SP-2 magnetometer/electronic compass
The SP-2 contains a three axis magnetic field sensor and a 2 axis accelerometer. Featuring a high resolution 16 bit measurement system a powerful ATMega processor is used to output tilt compensated heading information. If a SP-4 AHRS is used on the same airtalk communications link, tilt compensation can be performed using gyro data.
SP-4 AHRS (Attitude and Heading reference system)
The SP-4 contains 3 MEMS gyros and 3 MEMS vibrating body accelerometers. Using a 16 bit data aquisition subsystem a powerful ARM7 32 bit processor is used to provide stabilized attitude information. Togther with a SP-2 magnetometer on the same airtalk communications link the gyro heading can be automatically slaved to the magnetic heading.
SP-5 AHRS (Attitude and Heading reference system)
The SP-5 contains 3 high grade RING gyros and 3 MEMS vibrating body accelerometers. Using a 16 bit data aquisition subsystem a powerful ARM7 32 bit processor is used to provide stabilized attitude information. Togther with a SP-2 magnetometer on the same airtalk communications link the gyro heading can be automatically slaved to the magnetic heading.
The SP-5 is intended for applications requiring exceptional, professional level performance from the AHRS system. The SP-5 is based on RING gyros designed by British Aerospace (now BAe Systems).
