Update 170111 contains:
Full remote control protocol that includes setup. This is required if you would like to use the V10 with an MGL Radiostack in an EFIS.
Sidetone level reduced by 6dB during TX.
Update 010310 contains:
RS232 serial port 2 enabled for all functions (previously only serial port 1 had all functions included). Note: Software updates can only be performed through serial port 1.
New setup function with three options:
Sidetone ON - Normal oeration.
Sidetone OFF - Sidetone during TX suppressed.
Intercom OFF - All sidetone activity suppressed. Used if no intercom function is used and Radio is operated with speaker and microphone.
Update 160813 contains:
Added support for new hardware edition (works also with all previous generation hardware).
Various minor changes.
Interface application version 170111. Includes update facility for V10 radios version 030209 and later to current version. Version number is Date/Month/Year. Radios pre-030209 can only be updated at the factory (once updated to current standards they can be updated by the user for future software releases).
Uploading new firmware to the V10 requires use of a RS232 serial interface on your PC (USB to RS232 adaptors tend to work OK).
A cable needs to be constructed that connects the RX and TX as well as ground lines from the PC to the D15 connector on the back of the V10. The V10 has two serial ports and for the update serial port 1 needs to be used (RX1 and TX1). The V10 needs to be suppied from a 12V power source during the firmware update.
PC D9 --- V10 D15
2 --- 6 (RX PC connects to V10 TX1)
3 --- 12 (TX PC connects to V10 RX1)
5 --- 15 (GROUND PC to GROUND V10)
NEG --- 15 (negative from power supply connects to ground of RS232 from PC as well)
+12V --- 8 (12V supply to radio during firmware update, regulated power supply or 12V battery)
Current draw less than 200mA typical during firmware update. Do not TX without antenna or dummy load connected !
Please contact your supplier if you are unable to perform the update yourself.
Update 250812 contains:
Changes to SL30/SL40 communications protocol handler for direct frequency selection
V10 frequency list editor: (Windows, any 32 bit version)
This small program allows you to download and upload frequency lists to and from the V10 transceiver. You can edit these lists and maintain several different lists if you like.
