The message “supply on backup” shows up when I turn on the back up battery switch. After I acknowledge the message it goes out. New battery and have checked wiring against the iefis diagram.
Would like to know why this message comes up.

That message appears when the power supply has changed to backup supply - this in turn happens if the backup voltage is larger than your main voltage.
