My gps takes for ever to load up..
Antenna is in clear view of the sky..
Unit was installed in 2011 but was not actibe for several years..
Are there any updates for the gps itself or am i missing something..
Advice please.

Make sure your EFIS backup battery in the rear of the unit under a cover is not flat - it needs to be replaced every few years.
Among many other things it maintains the almanac for your GPS - that way the GPS knows where to expect the satellites and does not have to download the current almanac every time you switch on.
If it knows approximately were it is it can re-aquire a position with a few seconds if it has the almanac and it is not too old.

Thanks i will look into thus.. didnt know about the back up batery..
