Hi
im building a sonex with dual mx-1
and 1 V16 radio
I did connect the sp6, rdac and V16 in can
but it seem my MX-1 does't see the radio, I do have a red X
in can diagnostic I have around 120/sec while the radio is disconnected and around 150 when connected so it seem to send somestuff
but still have a red X
I would prefer to keep it in can since if one mx-1 fail the other can still control the radio
any idea whats wrong?
I don't any razor or vega head
thanks all

Re: MX-1 and V16 in CAN
Do you definitely have COM1 ticked in "Equipment Enables"?
Re: MX-1 and V16 in CAN
Yes if not ticked the X is gray
Re: MX-1 and V16 in CAN
The V16 does NOT connect to ANY EFIS using the CAN bus.
You use the RS232 port 1 on the V16 connected to your chosen serial port on the EFIS (or iBOX or Extender).
You then configure that port for an MGL radio (Serial port setup and routing menu).
And enable in the Equipment enables menu (as you have done already).

Hi
Thank for the confirmation rainier
Us support also confirm (even tho you are the ultimate source)
I wish that both manual were more clear on that matter. Both manual let me belived it was possible.
So side question, having two efis only one can control the v16 (except if I put a dpdt switch to switch between both) is that correct?
Any plan to support v16 canbus in the mx1 efis?

Re: MX-1 and V16 in CAN
The primary EFIS is in control of setup of the radio - however any panel can send frequencies.
No there are no plans to use the V16 CAN bus connected to the EFIS. The reason for this is to reduce traffic on the important EFIS CAN bus - essential services only. The V16 CAN bus is only used to connect to one or more control heads as well as an optional N16 nav radio as well as A14 or A16 intercom system.
The radio CAN bus must never be connected to the EFIS CAN bus. It is designed to be a private bus.
