Setting up Vega/N16

Post by Glen P »

I’ve just installed a Vega with an N16. I’m trying to do a setup as described in the installation instructions. Initial display is “Com radio not detected”. Pressing the left knob takes me to an Active/Standby/RX Volume page. Next page is Set RX Squelch, then Set IC Volume. When I get to Setup Head unit, the only available page after that is to edit channels. Any advice on what I’ve done wrong?
Thanks,
Glen

There are many more functions you can select under head setup - just rotate the left knob (the one that has "Exit" over it - that happens if you push it).
The next selection is the head type - Rotate the right knob to cycle through the choices: NAV Primary, NAV Secondary and NAV ALL and finally back to COM.
When happy simply press EXIT.

Thanks, Rainier. I'm still unable to set up my Vega.
If I'm on the page with Setup head unit, exit and set,
Turning the left knob clockwise changes nothing and
Turning the right knob clockwise also changes nothing.
Pushing the left knob takes me back to the initial page and
Pushing the right knob takes me to edit channels.
The N16 LED is flashing green.
The Advanced Control Module shows 0.0 amps going to Com 2 and 0.3 amps going to Nav 2.
Any other thoughts,
Glen

if you are on the screen showing "Edit channels" turning the LEFT knob clockwise takes you to the next item which is "Head type".

Your left knob is working - otherwise you would not be able to even get to the "Head setup". Just make sure the knob changes the selection in both directions turning left and right.

If it only changes when you turn left then there is a problem with that Vega.
