V6 settings for single seat homebuilt aircraft
I have installed a MGL V6 radio in my single seat homebuilt aircraft, but am a bit confused as to what settings to make to get the most out of the radio. As it’s only one seat I would like to disable the intercom. Do I do this by setting the VOGAD to a high setting? Or by setting the VOX? I have no external music/audio wired into the VHF, and use a AvComm PNR headset with a standard electret mic.Any guidance to a starting point for settings would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Andrew.

Simplest is to set the VOX at its upper limit- that way it will never open the intercom channel and your headset will remain quiet except when transmitting or receiving.
When you press PTT the mic is always live, so the VOX setting does not affect transmission.
Set your squelch and volume as required for receive levels.
