Flying today and my Odyssey G2 went dead with no apparent power to the screen. Power wire has normal voltage.
Is there an internal fuse?
Is it serviceable by me?

Will an antenna with a higher dB rating help overcome ignition noise? Most active gps antenna claim 28 dB, but I found one that claims 40 dB.

Rainer, if it is ignition interference, would moving the antenna to the rear of the aircraft help?

At Matt's suggestion, I bought a new gps antenna and it seems to have solved the problem. $14 from ebay. Advertised as 26 db boost if I recall correctly. But just a simple matchbox size active antenna.

Any news or progress on getting the airport frequencies included on navidata.ewd?

I've also been following this thread because I have the same issue with my G2 Odyssey. I've improved contact between my gps antenna and the metal glare shield. This seems to have helped, but still getting occasional "gps not available". Reboot and it comes back on. Would a more powerful active anten...

I have a G2 Odyssey. Can you tell us a little more about the upgrade. What is done, a processor upgrade? What are the benefits?

I tried the most recent navidata.ewd file and found no airport frequencies either. It sure is handy to be able to transfer frequencies from from airport info to the radio with a single push of a button.
