Re: Why Doesn't The Autopilot Do Its Job Properly?
I have the same problems as everyone else when using the ap. I have an explorer with mgl servos and the sp7. I have to keep my hand on the stick to make sure I don’t ascend/decend at 500 fpm. Sometimes it works better but cannot fgure out what conditions create that. I thought for a while it was vib...

Re: Enlarging digits on screen for better ease of reading
I did and it helped me in getting the numbers faster. I also eliminated some of the info on a couple of screens to be able to enlarge that information I used more often

Error message
The message “supply on backup” shows up when I turn on the back up battery switch. After I acknowledge the message it goes out. New battery and have checked wiring against the iefis diagram.
Would like to know why this message comes up.

Re: Using iEFIS for IFR Flight
Have been using the iefis and 430 for several years in ifr conditions. In the US the faa regulations recognize the 430 as the primary ifr equipment and mgl efis as supplemental but not back up. The wording on the certification is important.

Re: backup battery
Having issues getting my back up battery to charge. I am taking the voltage supply from the same connection point as my main buss with a diode for current regulation. I get an error message when I switch on the bu battery power and there is no indication I am getting a charge.

backup battery
I have a small back up battery wired to my IEFIS explorer. Maybe I missed something in the wiring setup, but it doesn't charge. Do I need to charge it manually?

Re: Autopilot "Wallowing"
I still am fighting a pitch issue. Sometimes the ap pitch will hold for a long period while other times it will porpoise going up 500 fpm and down the same amount or more. So the altitude hold does not work as expected. The bank isn’t an issue and works fine.
