Firmware update of Razor head

For the last few days I have been trying to update the firmware on my Razor head without success. I am using a USB to serial adapter and with the same adapter successfully updated my N16 and V16 first time. I have checked and doubled checked the wiring and even tested with a continuity tester to ens...

Re: Two transceivers, one antenna

Rainier, do you mean that even with 2 separate antennas that close, I still risk blowing the receiver?

Re: Two transceivers, one antenna

I could put in a 2nd antenna. It's a composite aircraft so can't just go anywhere. The ideal place for it would mean it would be located about 1.5m from the primary antenna. I do intend that only one radio would be powered on so one would be a primary and the 2nd purely a backup that would only ever...

Two transceivers, one antenna

Hi All, A bit of advice required for something I have never done before. Currently, I have a Funke ATR833 in my aircraft. But I also own a MGL V16 which I have never installed. I am using a N16 with a Blaze control head. Because everything is in place, it would be easy for me to install the V16 box ...

Re: MGL N16 with Razor head lost settings

Thanks Rainier, Just a few key words in your explanation has made it completely clear why I was getting the save settings issue. I was completely unaware of the time delay. I have put a complete description below just in case anyone else runs in to this. I purchased the N16 quite a while ago (probab...

Re: Fuel Flow Jabiru Engine

You can just insert the regulator in to the existing wiring. Just cut the positive and ground wires going to the sender and insert the regulator as described above. That's all I did on the 3 Jabs I have tried it on. I didn't change any wiring at all. The module is fairly small. My sender is inside t...

Re: Fuel Flow Jabiru Engine

Pretty simply. I purchased an LM2596 voltage regulator module from Amazon. You just wire the IN+ to the aircraft bus and the IN- to aircraft ground. Obviously make sure there is relevant circuit protection. I 3D printed a case for it with JST connectors at each end so I could insert it in the middle...

Fuel Flow Jabiru Engine

Hi All, I thought I would post this here as reference for anyone that is interested. I have been working with MGL kit since about 2013 and have used and installed a fair few systems for myself, friends in our group and some other people that asked for help. The people I deal with mostly have Jabirus...

MGL N16 with Razor head lost settings

Hi All, Last year, I installed an N16 with a Razor head. I have not flown very much and the aircraft has kind of been left during all these lock downs. I went to the airfield today to do some maintenance and noticed I was getting loads of interference through the intercom. I traced this to the N16 a...

Re: Xtreme EFIS default page

Many thanks Franz. You know after all these years working with MGL equipment, I never knew there was a battery in the Xtreme. You learn something new every day.
