MAP-4 in a Bantam

Post here anything about a more technical nature not directly related to a product - installation questions or solutions, anything you think may help others as well. Floobidust - a term sometimes used by us nerds to categorize anything that does not fit into a category. Sort of a wild card.

MAP-4 in a Bantam

Post by Mmw »

Hello
I would like to replace my VDO tach/Hobbs with a Map-4. The aircraft is a Bantam with a Jabiru 3300 engine. I have a few questions..
Will the Vdo's rpm pickup work, if not what will I need?
Can I use the manifold pressure input to measure fuel pressure, if so what pressure transducer will I need.
That's it for now.

Assuming your engine is normally aspirated manifold pressure is generally negative (a vacuum). Fuel pressure is positive so I vote no on that part.
