ASX-2 AIRSPEED READS WHEN DOING RUN UP

Post by RYANDEROT »

I have the asx-2, noticed when doing my run ups that the airspeed shows a variety of different speeds even though we standing still.

Has anyone out there seen this with there asx2? I went into menu and calibrated it to zero but no difference.

A friend said it may be the pressure from prop running but your thoughts, the pilot is not in the prop wash zone.

What about your static port ?
The ASI bases its measurements on the difference between the pressure on the static port and your pitot port.
If your static is vented internally (i.e. no "real" static port) be aware that your prop blast can pressurise or depressurise your cabin depending on how airflow works around your particular aircraft - your ASI is going to notice that.
