If you are using standard screens (or close to that) you will find the plates viewer on page 9.
On the Odyssey/Voyager the plate files are always on the external SD card - press the "Plates" key on the left when on page 9 (The plates key will show if there is a plates viewer on the screen).
Now you can select from plates files, view "most recent" or "favorites" etc. Plates that are referenced will show the aircraft symbol on the plate at your current location (also handy for airport layouts if you have to find your way around the larger airports).

As you probably know, plate files are collections of plates - usually related to an airport (so all plates relevant to an airport are in a single file). You can create these plate files yourself using the plates compiler from PDF source files. PocketFMS subscriptions also give you ready made plates files.

using plates and airport runway diagrams

Post by HansLab »

I have troubles to get PocketFMS properly working on my Lite:
- when pressing GoTo airport/plates sometimes the referring plate is shown and drawn on the map - in most cases it isn't. Because I' m still in the building phase I try to get used to the lIte on my home airfield, so I don't know whether plates will show up when in neighborhood of the chosen field
- 'Favourites' or 'recent' gives no possibility to choose any other plate than the one on top. I cannot scroll in the list.
- I get erratic results when choosing airports via GoTo: plates do appear (although not always drawn on the map, see first bullet), but in most cases representing another airport
Any help highly appreciated!!
