Hello.
Today I started my engine for first time and EFIS turns off while ignition. Sometimes it starts itself after ignition, sometimes it doesn't.
I read somewhere (I can't find it) that I should install an electrolytic capacitor.
I have found this text about grounding problems, but I don't now if this is the solution:
"Do install, at a minimum, a electrolytic capacitor of at least 10.000uF capacity (more is
better) as electrical energy reservoir at the EFIS power supply. That means both leads
of the capacitor at the EFIS or close to it (it is OK to install the capacitor on your
EFIS/instrument supply rail).
Consider installing a transorb or similar surge protection device over this supply as
well. It will ensure that any power surges remain within the limits imposed by DO-160".
So installing these capacitor plus transorb will solve this issue?
Transorb and TVS diode are the same thing?
Thank you.

Re: EFIS turns off while starting the engine.
If you want to keep your EFIS on during engine cranking you need a backup supply.
It will not restart of power supply conditions cause the brownout protection to trip in the EFIS - that requires a power cycle to reset.
