CAN Bus 120 Ohm termination

Post by christoph.glomski »

Hi,

I have a question about the 120 ohm termination resistor.
3 resistors are used in the Extreme XF instruction manual.

Only two resistors are used in the wiring diagram.
Which version is valid?

Greetings
Christoph

Yes this is confusing - thanks for the heads-up.
Only ever two resistors on a can bus - one on each end of the CAN bus wire run. Short stubs to connect equipment are permitted along the bus (that don't get resistors).

For shorter CAN bus runs typically found on our aircraft I find a single 100 ohm resistor placed anywhere on the bus also works just fine.
