Baud Rate iEFIS / Extender

Post here anything about a more technical nature not directly related to a product - installation questions or solutions, anything you think may help others as well. Floobidust - a term sometimes used by us nerds to categorize anything that does not fit into a category. Sort of a wild card.

Baud Rate iEFIS / Extender

Post by royerm »

Is it possible to find out what are the Baud rates established on:

iEFIS (Challenger). Port1 and Port2 ??
Extender Port2 to Port6 ??

Does the baud rate get set depending on what the port is set to be use for???
If yes, what does the Sandia transponder get set to???

Baud Rate is automatically set based on the desired function. For example, the Sandia requires 2400 baud whereas a GDL-90 ADS-B source needs 115200 baud.

Note that some products such as the non-Lite iEFIS units have ports on the iBox (2-6) that are not able to use high-speed settings such as the MGL A16 intercom or GDL-90 ADS-B information. Take a look through your manuals to make sure that no ports are designated as non high-speed ports.

Hi Adam...

Can you please advise what baud rate/serial protocol the iEFIS Challenger Lite uses when the XCom radio option on Serial 1 or 2 ports is selected?
