This installation file will also install a file called MapMaker2 EPGS3857.pdf. This document explains how to use the new EPGS3857 import facility.
Briefly, MapMaker2 can now convert map tiles in EPGS3857 format to create EFIS compatible raster map files. These source tiles are used by Google Earth, OpenStreetMap as well as OpenFlightMaps which is most relevant here.
OpenFlightMaps has free aeronautical maps in good quality available for most European countries as well as South Africa and Namibia.
The document is focused towards OpenFlightMaps - where to download the map tiles and what to do with them but this will work for any source maps in this format.
