Loss of transmission

Post by Jeffsy »

I have a V 16 radio. It has on several occasions stopped transmitting. I have turned it off then on which seems to have fixed the problem. However yesterday I did this but it did not reset for at least 15 to 20 minutes. What is causing this problem?

Low supply voltage. The radio will stop any attempt at transmission at 9V or below. Between 12V and 9V the TX power will be reduced.
If you switch on the radio will first check the supply voltage. It will wait until the supply voltage exceeds 8V before operating. Once started it will continue operating nearly down to 6V but with reduced quality and no transmission below 9V (your microphones for example need to be supplied with 8V DC bias).
