iEfis Audio to A16

Hi all
I have an A16 audio system connected to iEfis lite to provide audio warnings etc.
I currently have it connected via a volume control pot and I'm receiving quite a bit of interference from the transponder and charging system
My question is, what ground should be used as the aux ground into the a16, direct from the iEfis or the shared ground?
I suspect I have a ground loop in there somewhere as a result of using the shared ground at the panel.
