V16 Aux Input Muting Completely on RX

Post by flyboy62000 »

I have a V16 serving as primary VHF and intercom controlled by the iEFIS. The radio and intercom work great, but I can’t get the radio to stop muting the iEFIS audio (alarms and AOA tones) connected to the aux input.

Aux volume - adjusts as expected and set at -6db which is a comfortable volume.

Aux Mute - Have tried multiple settings and they have no effect on the V16 muting the aux audio during VHF receive.

Is there any way to change this behavior where the aux input will remain at -6db or mute to the level selected by the “Aux Mute” setting during VHF receive? If not I’m going to have to rewire the audio system architecture to insert the alerts outside the V16. Which would have been nice to know ahead of time. The manual reads like the mute setting suppresses the aux to the the selected level, but that’s not what is happening.

Any insights and information on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
