V10 radio repair?

V10 radio repair?
My V10 radio does all the functions it should, except that when transmitting it sends a blank signal. We can hear the carrier on another radio, but no voice. The intercom function between headsets works normally. Is this worth trying to fix or should I take this as an opportunity to upgrade?

All spares have been shipped to MGL Avionics USA (California) so they are the only ones able to repair these things.
The Radio was manufactured by South West Electronics which shipped everything to the U.S. many years ago. I do not know the state of the spares stock. South West is no longer in business and has shut their facility.
