Hi MGL forum, thanks for accepting my membership.
I have just recently aqquired a Sonex tailwheel aircraft in Norway, MGL Voyager equipped - without a map database. May I ask for any assistance, where to purchase/download to SD following installation into the MGL Voyager ?
kind regards

I used Openflightmaps.org for Finland and Sweden (EPSG3857 tiles and ARINC424 airspace data). Norway seems to be not supported yet, but you may want to contact ofm about the status of it.

The conversion was relatively easy but required a bit of massaging for airspaces (line-ending change).

Hi Philippo, could you please take us by the hand in this 'massaging thing', because we're not all (at least I ain't) software specialists.....
Is there a way you could teach us? TEams or whatever?

I am also very interested in how to use the ARINC-424 data and convert it to .ewd files that the iEfis is using.
I have tried a lot of different ways importing the arinc data to MGL-Central software but it does not seem to really read the file correctly when importing it, you are hinting about some massaging of the Arinc file? Line ending edits? Could you please describe this a little bit more in detail? @plippo

Example of the content in the ARINC-424 file:

I solved the problem with the ARINC-424 text file.

Opened it into Visual Studio and resaved it according to the following encoding:
387547934_896472411818739_3032653285766104094_n.png

Imported it into MGL-Central as an ARINC-424

Exported the Navidata file and installed it in the Simulator through the MMC (SD-Card)

Hi,
I just found this page and hope you can help me.

I have an iEFIS G3 and try to load a dataset for Map, waypoints and such.
For this, I downloaded the ARINC file for ED from https://www.openflightmaps.org/ed-germany/ and tried to load it to the MGL Central.
But MGL Central will error out after processing 83000 lines of the file (from folder embedded), no matter of the import settings.
Simply splitting the file did not work either.
Using the (reduced?) isolated folder file it works but it does not give me any map but only the waypoints.

What do I need to do to have the underlying map as in your picture?
Is there any way to import the large file?

Thanks
Fabian

ARINC file is not a map. A ARINC424 file contains navigational data.
For maps from OpenFlightMaps use MapMaker2 with the EPGS53857 format mapsource (described in the included pdf file after installation).

Thanks for pointing out. I found it now.

As it's a quite tedious task to create the tiles from the countries' EPGS files through the world map individually one after the other (hoping not to miss a tile), is there a way to automate this as some sort of batch?
Just like if you manually georeferenced maps and I can just replace a part and re-run the whole batch?

thanks
Fabian
