xtreme not logging to .rec any more

My xtreme used to faithfully record to enigma.rec. Now nothing. Logging to .csv files works fine. Tried:
Upgraded to latest version (2.08);
Replace enigma.rec with a new empty one.

I want the .rec capability back so I can export to kml and view on Google Earth.

.REC logging on the XTreme was deprecated and replaced with CSV logging for better compatibility with third-party tools, as well as user-readability.

Ah, ok.
Is there a recommended way of generating kml files to use with Google Earth?
I tried extracting the lat, lon columns into a text file and then used a csv to kml converter tool (GPS Vosualizer). Failed.
Thanks.

Considering the lack of responses, does that mean being able to virew in Google Earth is no longer (easily) possible?
Should I revert to an earlier version of Xtreme software if I want to view in Google Earth?

Hi Ray,

We are busy implementing this feature into the Xtreme Data Viewer. Can you please send me your xtreme data viewer file.

thanks,
Franz

Hi Franz,

It appears that only image files can be attached.
So I am sending my .csv file to the info@mglavioncs address.

Thanks,

Yes that gives me what I want. Thanks, Franz. :)

Here are a few pointers for users of this new feature:
• KML settings are specified under Settings
• It defaults to Clamp to Ground. Remove that checkmark to display the track with altitude
• Select Extrude to show the ‘roller coaster’ style as used by the old .rec method where the elevated path is shown with the track on ground below.

However, regardless of the settings you specify, you can alter the way tracks are displayed in Earth at any time by right-clicking on the track under Temporary Places then selecting Altitude to choose the way you want.
