G1 Mini Xtreme blank screen after attempting firmware update

Hi all,
May anyone be able to help me out please.
We have an G1 MGL Mini Xtreme and I didn't realise at the time but we went to update the firmware with G 2 software however then we realised its a G 1.
Screen went blank, can this be fixed with a new complete G 1 file on a new sd card? And boot from the external sd card? And where can I get the complete file from? Or is it something that has to be done on the internal card (if it has one).
Now when it starts it flashes up to a white screen for about half a second and then nothing.
