MGL Customers,
Michigan Avionics is happy to announce that the MGL iEFIS WiFi gateway is now available for purchase in the US! The devices are priced at $285 and come with what's necessary to install it. There's also an App Store app called EFIS Flight Gateway that allows direct sharing from apps like ForeFlight or SkyDemon.
The gateway is available here:

European customers should contact Delta Omega, who is also stocking these units.

Thanks,
Adam

Does this support the Foreflight Sentry and would it show the ADSB traffic data on the map screens?
Thanks.

The iBox in my installation has all its serial ports used, and according to Nidal from MicroKit, currently the serial port on the back of the iEFIS Challenger panel does not support the wifi gateway. This was based on another customer that had reached out to Nidal and said they are able to select the Data/file server option for that back port but the iEFIS is unable to see the Gateway. Nidal mentioned that MGL has committed to fix this in the next firmware release which he said would be "soon". Is there an expected timeframe for this release?
Best regards.
Jim
Updating this post as I have learned it was inaccurate. My iBox does not have all of its serial ports used, so I have ordered the Gateway. I will report back once I have recieved/installed it.

Hi,
I was the one that alerted to this issue, after installing in the screen port. I already asked in the main thread about when will this fix will be released, but no response from Rainier. I heard that he only said to the distributors: "soon". In MGL clock that could be weeks or months.

I installed the Gateway (using the serial port 1 on the iBox) today and I have traffic on one of my 2 screens. Can anyone help me to get it to work on the second screen. The second screen does not have the serial port configuration menu? When I go to the LAN/WIFI setup screen it says something to the effect that it is not recieving any signal from the Gateway?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jim,
As the Gateway RS232 port is connected to the iBox, so the data received by Screen #1 from the iBox is probably being sent either CANBus or MGL LAN. In theory, the 2nd Screen should be able to also pickup the same data unless MGL firmware design dedicates certain iBox features to one screen only! Hoping Rainier or Adam @ Michigan Avionics can chip in.
Regarding the RS232 port on the back of the Challenger; Rainier did say it's a simple enable and hoping he schedule this to be released shortly.
Regards
Nidal

It has been almost 4 months since the issue of not being able to use the rs232 in the back of the Challenger was said to be enabled “shortly”. Any news on the firmware update that allows me to use this feature without having to rewire the Wifi Gateway?

Sorry for the delay - turns out this is not as simple as I thought due to the way the HS port on the EFIS works. I have started work on this yesterday, it's a bit involved as it requires new data buffers dedicated to the gateway as they cannot be shared (as is the case now). Data to and from the port has to be moved using DMA which further complicates matters due to cache memories between actual storage memory and the CPU.
But will get there

Thanks for the update. Hope you find a solution as I have to use the internal IEFIS port as well.
