Ecb

I just installed an ECB. I bridged the switch cable connections because I want to use only the Efis to control the ecb.
I got 7 of the breakers to work. All those 7 go to switches that turn on landing lights, nav lights , strobes etc. Breaker no 1 goes to a bus bar then to the efis, ibox, rdacs and a couple of other small draw items. That breaker comes on and immediately goes off line. Does it need to be on a switch also. I'm lost here.

I had that setup for years b4 changing back to using the ecb as a conventional breaker because of intermittent switch issues. I have a couple of ideas that might help.
1. Make sure you have connected the 2 wires together on the ribbon cable for switch 1 to show an “ always on” status. Wiring directions are in the manual.
2. Double check your programming in the efis. I found that if I changed the programming on 1 breaker it would affect the programming on the other 7. After any change cycle the efis and recheck program of all the breakers. I found that if I changed 1 I had to reprogram all of them b4 saving.
Hope this helps.

Hi
I think you misunderstood. I am not using the ribbon cable at all. I put folded aluminum foil under the crimp connector for the ribbon cable so it would short out all the pins. I also want to use the ECB as a regular breaker.
When I say switched I mean I came of the breaker and go to a manual on/off switch and then to the load. but the Efis is not on a switch, goes directly from the number 1 on ECB to the efis. Its the only one that comes on and immediately goes off. By come on and goes off I mean the red led next to the breakers. Its just weird that the only one out of eight that is not going to a on/off switch is the only one that trips. And also the other seven work as expected when I apply the load from the switch. Lights etc. ???
