shielding for RF interference

My little homebuilt helicopter's airframe is steel, but the cabin is fiberglass. I have my MGL v16 radio installed and it works well, but i want to see if I can improve the sound quality even more.
I was researching a bit on how to minimize electro magnetic interference. in the aircraft.
Read the v16 manual and other things Rainier had written - all good stuff.

Specifically there is a section on bonding equipment cases to the ground.
My v16 is mounted on the fiberglass bulkhead and thus its case is not grounded. Did anyone here have any experience with something like that and should I perhaps ground the case with a strap or a jumper?
Another aspect is wiring shields termination. v16 manual suggests to ground the shield with the ground cable. NASA seem to suggest to ground them to a metal cable backshell (which i imagine then would get grounded via the radio case). Seems like Garmin embraced that idea with their backshells all being aluminum and ground wires terminating to the backshell. Does anyone here have any thoughts on that stuff?
