Hi, I’m installing the extreme EFIS and EMS with RADEC. how much information is shared between these units via the CAN bus? Specifically will I need install 2 gps antennas and 2 OAT probes in order to have OAT and gps on both displays? Is there a gps out that I can send to my ELT?
Thanks

The EFIS and EMS don't directly communicate with each other - they exist as stand-alone devices in a way. Rainier may have a way to avoid this, but from my own anecdotal findings you will in fact need two OAT probes, but not two GPS antennas only because the EMS does not have a GPS receiver built in, or any GPS navigation functions.

Although I have never personally tested it, in theory you should be able to use one of the RS-232 outputs on EFIS to the input on EMS in NMEA mode so that you can get your range calculations if you are using fuel flow.

How do you know where to hook up one of the OAT probes?
I’m not sure where to hook it up at.
