EFIS tripping ECB

I recently powered my Challenger lite and RDAC with a breaker on one of the ECB's. There is a switch in series with the Challenger and RDAC.The breaker is set to powered on and is 5 amp with a 2 second delay. After powering the ECB I turn on the switch and the breaker trips. Turn the power off to the ECB and repeat this process and the Challenger and RDAC power on normally. continued cycling the switch while the ECB remains powered on turns the devices on and off normally but if the ECB is left off for an extended period of time the breaker trip scenario will repeat.
Any ideas?

Put an amp-clamp or use a multi-meter with ammeter capabilities and see what the current draw of the EFIS actually is.

Thanks Adam for your input.
I don't have any meters that react quickly enough to capture the inrush current.
It exhibits this behavior even at the highest current setting allowed for a single breaker (10 amps) and the normal current when it is operating is 2.5-3 amps. Could the fault on initial startup be related to capacitors charging?

Update:
This issue was resolved by using the on/off switch on the ground (12-) wire and connecting 12+ directly from the ECB to the efis .
