Screen design for ADS-B IN Traffic objects

Post by Ts3794 »

Currently ADS-B IN, traffic is displayed as a small Yellow plane with data.. When placed upon a light brown sectional chart, it is very hard to see.

How do I change the color or size of these objects.?
I see areas in the designer to manage different objects. I have not found this object.
Can you point me in the right direction.

I agree. As far as I know the Traffic Icon cannot be changed and is definitely too small. Where I am doing most of my flying I have significant traffic and the traffic icon is often either cannot be seen or cannot be read against other map or overlapping traffic information.

Fortunately I have a iPad mini running other pilot software I can use to see and avoid traffic, but this micro ADSB traffic symbol has been a long standing issue that should have a high priority to get fixed. Hint-Hint!

Either allow the screen designer to let us draw a traffic Icon (or maybe load a Mif traffic graphic) or give a setup up function with traffic icon color and size setup selections.

Most any software will suffice, including ForeFlight. If the ADS-B receiver you are using has a way to wirelessly connect, then chances are ForeFlight is supported.

I use i-Fly GPS and a Echo UAT. It has the WIFI Interface that sends GPS position and all the Traffic and Weather FAA is uplinking now.

FlyQ and a DYI stratux (stratux.me) is a great solution for most flyers. I found that foreflight was over kill for recreation flying unless I was using it weekly. Easy to forget where to find things. But that was several years ago, they may now have a more intuitive interface. Looking forward to wiring the stratux into the MX1.
