Rainier,

Will both the T-16 and the SP-14 have any connectors that will be anything other than Standard-Density D-Sub (and antenna coax, naturally)?

I'm crimping my connections and would prefer to limit the 22-24 AWG wire High-Density D-Subs require.

I hope that parts supply constraints will abate and that you'll be able to get these products to market before too long.

Thanks!

Standard DSUB and the usual SMA for the RF side.

We hope that the semiconductor supply situation will resolve itself later in the year (current industry estimates suggest that it will start easing in the forth quarter and first quarter next year.
Currently it has actually become quite a bit worse than what it was a few months ago with prices going through the roof. We have seen price increases from the vendors up to 1000% - if you can even get the parts. Pricing from actual semiconductor companies have increased about 10-20% but most parts are on allocation and some have stopped taking orders altogether.

MGL, like all other companies that require a large variety of components in their products are hard hit - if you have a product that requires 1000 parts and you have 999 all you have is a large sum of money tied up in stock and nothing to sell. So far we have done pretty well I think, with a lot of tap dancing and holding of begging bowls of course.

Shortages are not just with electronic components - we just had quite a task finding the special ABS plastic we use for our housing injection molds - prices have doubled and we had to wait 6 weeks to get the stuff. Metal is also through the roof - even just nuts and bolts.

It's a new World...

Hey Rainer,

Been a while since we saw an update and wondering if the component supply issue is still prevalent enough to delay the T16 further? Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Rainier,

Any chance you could post the D-Sub pinouts for the much anticipated T16D and the SP-14?

With the supply-chain craziness I understand the production of those components is uncertain, but I've built the spaces for them specifically and am now running wires. I am willing to take the chance that things might change down the road in order to now prep for a hoped-for future plug-and-play installation.

My D-Subs are all crimped pins/sockets so, things can be later changed without too much anguish.

I'm using your iEFIS Discovery Lite with an EFIS Extender.

Thanks!

Rainier,

I’ll echo Brent’s inquiry on the T-16 and SP-14. What’s new with those products?

Also, I could sure use the proposed D-Sub pinouts for both of those products. :D
