Automatic Flight time for electric aircraft?

Post by raystl »

Rainier
I understand how automatic flight time is initiated depending on ASI and rpm. The rpm is obtained from an input feeding through an RDAC. The RDAC also services other parameters related to engines such as temperatures and pressures.

ELectric motors have none of these. It is not worth getting an RDAC just to report rpm. Would it be possible to initiate flight time based on ASI alone (perhaps rpm could default to a high value if there is no RDAC)?

Thanks.
