Fuel Flow Error

Post by CWYT »

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking at buying an airplane (Vans RV) that has an MGL Extreme EFIS installed with engine monitor and AHRS. The fuel flow isn't working, it's reading over 20 gallons per hour. It should be closer to 7.

I'm wondering generally if that is something that is easily fixed/calibrated. Or is it more likely that something needs to be replaced? I know that's not a lot of info to go on. I don't actually own the plane yet, just trying to gather information before diving in.

Thanks very much

Fuel Flow is captured via a turbine-wheel sensor or by capturing the trigger signals on electronic fuel injection systems. In your case, you most likely have a turbine wheel sensor.

That said, I have a few questions.

1.) Does it read 20 GPH all the time no matter what?
2.) What are your current configuration settings for Fuel Flow?
3.) Where is the sensor mounted in your aircraft?
