Stratomaster Odyssey will not initialize properly

Hello,

I'm having an issue that stops my Odyssey from working altogether.

>Earlier the Odyssey was able to load past the initial loading screen running off the Odyssey2.emb file using an SDHC memory card.
>One day during start up, the Odyssey would stay stuck in the loading screen stating "Basic file system initialized".
>However, it would not proceed further into the main screen and I cannot understand why. :|
>This issue occurs all the time now and I have not found a solution.

I've tried two different SD cards (Philips SD 256 MB, and Kodak SDHC I V10 32 GB) neither of them are resolving the issue.

I've attached a photo of the message that is stuck on the screen during start up and won't go away:

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks,

It is not able to read your SD card - most likely a problem with the SD card connector itself.
You mention you are using the emergency boot - that means you have a problem with the internal SD card as well - have you had a look ? It lives in a card holder on the CPU card. Sometimes just taking it out and putting it back resolves the problem. If it does have a very close look at the card contacts - with a magnifying glass - I have seen them wearing right through the metal plating of the card after many years of use resulting in tiny holes on the card contacts where the fingers of the connector touch.

Sorry just noticed you have a G1 system there - probably first release from the version numbers - it's got a compact flash card.
You can take it out and plug that into a PC using a card reader (most still have a slot for compact flash) - see if you can read it in a PC (don't write to the card).
