Airdata-1 reference altimeter/airspeed indicator

Post by rainier »

Just a heads-up.
We have completed development of a first item in a new product category: Test and calibration equipment.

It is called the "Airdata-1" and is a compliant pitot/static test reference instrument. It provides all functionality to be able to perform a pitot static test as per requirements for altimeter, airspeed and vertical speed instruments. Static leak tests can also be performed.
The Airdata-1 comes with a certificate of compliance and traceable calibration to a NIST dead weight standard. Annual calibration checks are mandated by regulations and can be performed by any certified calibration lab.

The Airdata-1 does not come with any devices to create pressure or vacuum - this is left to the user to arrange (solutions for this vary from basic syringes with PVC pipes and fittings to automated pressure vessels with electric pumps and valves). The Airdata-1 provides the core of the calibration equipment at very affordable cost, yet at an accuracy comparable to the most expensive pitot static test sets available on the market.
