SP7 - no data to Xtreme EFIS
I purchased an SP7 along with SP6, Xtreme, RDAC-X and two servos some years back when I first bought my plane kit. I have reached the stage of avionics switch on. Even though the Xtreme is getting heading info from the SP6, there is nothing from the SP7. The red light is continuously flashing at a fast rate. I have tried firstly Airtalk and subsequently tried Can bus, also without results. All connections are correct and when I was using Airtalk, the RCA cables and adapter were all checked ok. I am a retired avionics LAME. What am I missing? Please advise. John.
Re: SP7 - no data to Xtreme EFIS
A fast rate of flashing would indicate the SP-7 is set to send data in raw mode - this should not really happen unless you have a unit that has been used in a special application. If you send me an email to info@mglavionics.co.za I can send you a link to a Windows application where you can select the data output mode. It needs a RS232 link to the SP-7.
The SP-7 should flash once per second if it is not connected to an EFIS and give a double flash once per second if it is connected.
