Re: V16 with 2 issues
How is reception and can you hear other stations clearly? It may be worth testing the antenna coax for connectivity and no shorts between the shield and the core. Another item to check is all of the audio cables and that the shields are grounded at the radio end only and that the jack plugs for the ...

Re: Two! second press and release for dual watch V16 Vega
Have waited quite a while and got no response. Tried emailing MGL directly and no response. Called my local dealer multiple times and no response. I give up!

Re: V16 Vega control head issue
I had that problem also, it is disconcerting when it unexpectedly flips freq to 121.5. I don't think there is much that can be done about it as it seems to be part of the design. I talked to the dealer about it and there is nothing they can do either.

Re: LH side headsets don't hear radio transmission V16
I had a similar issue, also in a Foxbat coincidentally, but I don't think the aircraft type is significant.
The "fix" was to reduce the microphone gain for the transmitting headset, from 0 dB to -3 dB. Now, both seats can hear the outgoing transmission when PTT is pressed.

Re: V16 to GRT HXr
jprock, Apart from wanting to change the frequency, wouldn't you also need to at least adjust the volume and squelch settings and also turn on/off dual frequency scanning? If you have space in your panel for a 2.25" Vega control head then that will be less costly to add, rather than having to buy an...

Re: V16 to GRT HXr
The V16 can receive frequency information from another brand of equipment, but the GRT won't be able to control all of the functions and do the setup. For this you'll need a MGL control head or EFIS. I have the Vega control head and it is very easy to see and doesn't take up much panel space.

Re: V16 stuck on AWIS frequency
Thanks Mike. I just noticed that there was a firmware update 100719 (V1 REL 10) that "Improved scanning behavior if new frequencies pushed while scanning". I wonder if that update will fix the problem? The firmware in my V16 is version 151018 (V1 REL 6) which is older than the above. I would need to...

V16 stuck on AWIS frequency
The V16 gets stuck on the frequency when listening to the Automated Weather Information Service broadcast, even when both the active and standby frequencies are changed to a different frequency. The only way that I've been able to get the radio to switch away from the AWIS frequency is to transmit o...

Vega Control UI possibilities
I've verified the following behaviour using the Vega control right knob with V16: - press and release quickly = swap active/standby frequencies - press and hold for 2 seconds and then release = turn scan on/off - press and hold for 4 seconds = 121.5 Mhz becomes active Is there a way to enhance the u...

Two! second press and release for dual watch V16 Vega
I use dual watch frequencies a lot and the function is very useful. I turn on and off the dual watch by pressing and holding for 2 seconds the right knob on the Vega. Problem is that sometimes I release the button too early and it does not seem as if there is any way to tell if the Vega has register...
