it absolutely is.

Especially when you see the Discovery light was just working perfect in all those things the MX1 is troublesome.

Re: A few MX1 quirks

There is a calibration for the VSI in the "Internal sensor setup menu". It should be quite accurate if this is set to 100%. If you set it to 50% for example it will halve the rate shown. This still does not have any impact to the VSI. VSI is about factor 2 to high. VSI in TE or not, factor changed ...

MX1 trouble with AHRS.

I have an MX1 in my WT9 dynamic. The Horizon is not really stable. Setting bank angle to zero does not give a really horizontal horizon. Additionally sometimes ist changes over time so I have to reset the bank angle. In general there should be no setting of the bank angle necessary, the device is mo...

Re: Mx1 Operations update 19

good it worked.
i had both on the same card. With the first reboot it updated the bootloader.
The second boot then detected the bootloader is the same and flashed the firmware.
I do it with just holding the button until the firmware is flashing.

anyways, good it works.

Re: Mx1 Operations update 19

you have to do two cycles of firmware upgrades. With the first boot, the bootloader is renewed. With the second the firmware.

Good to know. Could not find anything like that for vector maps in the manual.

If I would have known that, I may have decided different for the selection of the EFIS.

Re: Mx1 freezes then and endless reboot loop

I don't know if it works with traffic monitroring, but at least it does not crash. Traffic monitoring is not essential for me, I have that on other devices (for me XCSoar and SkyDemon on Android). The MX1 ist mainly used as a high sophisticated EMS. Discovery light with my former plane never had any...

Re: Mx1 freezes then and endless reboot loop

Checked with several releases of firmware.
it starts with 13. 12 works, 13 is the first broken one.

Reset everything to factory defaults. Just activate Traffic monitoring, start flight and it crashes

serial #191000021
for test no devices connected.

Re: Mx1 freezes then and endless reboot loop

I've got the same issue with the MX1.
To test you can use it on the ground with the automatic flight detect off and start flight in the Action-menu.

It is locked then.

I can unlock it with clearing the non volatile memory.

Still, it is not nice. My Discovery never had this issue.

Re: MGL Avionics Knowledgebase

Hi Adam, some possibilities i know of: -Wrong setting of sensor gain (pulses per gallon) -in case of engine installation with reflow line no return flow sensor (eg Rotax 914 has about 27gal/h fuel flow forward here) -sensor broken -bad sensor but for sure no issue to buying a plane ;-) best regards,...
