Re: MX1 - Why and Why not? Share your insights
Greetings Alf, Like any product MGL has it's strengths and weaknesses. As such, you'll need to assess how well these 'dove-tail' with your goals and abilities. Strengths: (my opinion) -very easy to install both wiring and physically. RDAC model makes wiring relatively minor chore (as far as panels a...

Re: Help with Screen Creation MX1
... Is there a repository of screens that people have created or anything like that? Rob, I like your idea of a screen repository. It would be enjoyable to see what others have come up with. Here are a few shots of my MX1 (pages 4-6). SysOP feel free to move these to a new dedicated thread. MX1-pg4...

Re: MX1 Failure (firmware/OS related?)
Extender: Keep in mind I was getting errors while on the bench with only power connected. So it seems to be all configuration settings and not the actual physical connections. It's been awhile since I wired it. I'm thinking that on the MX1 it's on RS232 port 4. Also I remember that the MX1 port4 in/...

PROGRESS!: MX1 Failure (firmware/OS related?)
Rainier, I met a friend of yours today (Chris Jones) who lives just a mile or so from my hangar. He was very helpful in getting me to put my logic hat back on and working the problem. It seems to have worked. This MX1 is back on V16 and the data recording seems to be working fine. I'll know for sure...

Re: MX1 Failure (firmware/OS related?)
Question: If I put the MX1 on a the bench and power it with no other connections. Should the data recording feature work normally?
If so then this test should eliminate the question of installed hardware connected.

Re: MX1 Failure (firmware/OS related?)
Rainier,
The Internal File Manager can see the 10mb data file just fine.

Re: MX1 Failure (firmware/OS related?)
Rainier, Recording file is 10mb, I can zip it and send it to you (will check it via internal file mgr later today). I've tried various combinations of disconnecting items - haven't seen any indication of external items that might be causing this. I'll make up a diagram for how things are connected. ...

Re: A few MX1 quirks
Lane, Traffic: Sounds like we have a very similar setup. In order to get traffic on the MX1 you'll need to run a serial pair from the Stratux to the MX1 (ADSB-in). I'll repost my info about that if I can find it -been awhile. Attitude indicator: Mine tumbles in flight. Very distracting when this hap...
