Re: Trio gold standard servos
Just quick thing to check, USB lead running form EFIS to Coms Ext. In my situation, if this USB lead is not connecting properly, I get similar diagnostics to this. Try unplug and re-plug the USB cable into the another EFIS USB port. As well at some stage, I was told a USB power mod was done to bridg...

Re: K-Factor Fuel Flow
Thanks Rainier for your post about the position of the Fuel Flow Sensor in our Jab 430. I will change longitudinal angle to sit higher at the out flow, I may print a up a flow sensor block to hold the sensor in the right horizontal and longitudinal position. After another look at my photo, maybe it ...

Re: RPM Pulse from Jab 3300 Ignition Coil & Hall Effect
You can use anything that produces a clean pulse with a minimum of 1V peak to peak - if you use a hall effect sensor - most of them are open drain drivers so they can switch to ground or are "floating" - this means you need a pullup resistor - perhaps to 5V or 12V (check data sheet of the sensor ho...

Re: RPM Pulse from Hall Effect for Jab 3300
Hi Rainier, a quick question, Is there a preference for any Brand and Model Hall Effect sensor to pick-up the revolutions from the magnets in the Jabiru flywheel? After much consideration, reading and googling, I am heading towards fitting a Hall Effect sensor. This will solve the problem of losing ...

Re: RPM Pulse from Jab 3300 Ignition Coil
I developed a conditioning circuit for the Jabiru to RDAC XF RPM input that has worked well for me for over 5 years. See that attached JPG. A 10k 1/2 watt resistor is attached at the ignition control lead and connected to the junction of D1 pin1 and C6. I do not recall exactly why I did it this way...

Re: RPM Pulse from Jab 3300 Ignition Coil
Jimjab, The sensitivity adjustment is on the rdac, might not be an option for yours then. Apologies for the bum steer. Mike Hey Mike, this is not a bum steer to me, you have just confirmed there is different types of RDAC's with in the RDAC-X series and I had those pic on file, so posting them was ...

Re: RPM Pulse from Jab 3300 Ignition Coil
I use an rdac xf feeding explorer lite, I use two feeds, one from each coil. I had to turn the rpm sensitivity to the minimum on the rdac before I could get a stable reading, but now they are spot on, having two gives the benefit of seeing any issues with the coils. Thanks Tasmag for your help, I d...

Re: RPM Pulse from Jab 3300 Ignition Coil
That's a shame about the Jab VDO sensor, I will check out this other sensor, thanks for your help Paul.Paul Sistern wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 8:53 am No. The VDO sensor does not work with the MGL system, which is unfortunate as it would be a simple solution. You need something like RS part number 765-9328.
Paul.

Re: K-Factor Fuel Flow
Thanks Rainier, That's great to hear we are heading in the right direction with this pulse wave with the engine running. So the next step is to see how changing the fuel sensor position may improve the K-factor number. I have added the pic just in case someone might see an issue. Yes, the fuel senso...

Re: RPM Pulse from Jab 3300 Ignition Coil
I can't offer anything regarding the shape of the pulse, but I know from owning a Jabiru aircraft that getting a good RPM signal from the alternator is not always possible. Like you, at one stage, I had a Voyager installed, and I did manage to get a good stable RPM display across the rev-range but ...
