Re: SP9 Crash on TakeOff???

I see the box is mounted on rubber bushes. Would you recommend Velcro over those?

Re: Raster maps

We really need to be able to access the old forum, as there was some excellent stuff on there. One of the best things was an app written by Chris Kurz, called OFM-4-MGL. The app can take Open Street tiles and convert them into a raster map. Even better, for you in France, is the ability to do the sa...

Re: Lambda sensor 0-5V into IEFIS, possible?

I'm certainly no expert but I don't see why you shouldn't be able to use the RDAC Aux. The RDAC XF manual says it's for extra temperature sensors but it can be used with NTC probes, as well as LM335, so I think your 0-5V sensor should be okay. Once it is connected then it is a simple matter of doing...

Re: Lambda sensor 0-5V into IEFIS, possible?

Have you got an Extender attached to your iEFIS Lite? If so you may well be able to have it as an analogue input and then just design a gauge of some sort to show the value on the EFIS. What are you measuring with this device? I thought Lambda was something to do with taper ratios on wings. Edited t...

Re: CAN harness:- Continuous Vs Daisychain, Shielded Vs Twisted pair

I went down the daisy chain route, using shielded 2 core cable. I also used Molex connectors to join the short ‘stubs’ that run from the DSub connectors. I didn’t continue the shield from the Molex to the DSub but I did continue the shield at each Molex on the main cable. I used shielded 2 core beca...

Re: EFIS simulator

How about leaving the default screens alone and seeing if the same thing works on a custom screen. 1. Go into the design module of the default screen you wish to modify 2. Copy the 'instructions' in the left hand side of the module 3. Exit that, open the design module for the relevant custom screen ...

Re: EFIS simulator

I’m not at my computer right now, so can’t give the exact details but if you’ve created your own screens then you need to go into the setup menu and choose to display those instead of the default screens. I will attempt to provide more precise instructions later in nobody else does so in the meantim...

Re: SP9 Crash on TakeOff???

One of the snags of having a good performance aircraft like an RV8. The acceleration rate causes the gyro to pitch up and exceeds its limits to compensate. I bet if you accelerated more slowly it wouldn't happen. It's the same as the pitch-up illusion experienced by the inner ear when being catapult...

Re: AOA tone generator

I will endeavour to do so but I don't know when it will happen given (a)a lack of GoPro or similar and (b)the fantastic British weather

Re: AOA tone generator

A solid tone over the fence, a bit of beeping as I got closer to the runway, some more urgent beeping as just before I crossed the end and then a satisfying 'loads of stalling beeping' just at touchdown :D

Yes, it all works very well in the real thing.
