Re: T16 update

Just buy the Trig remote unit (no need for a control head) and the MGL interface. The trig can be controlled through the EFIS and, if permitted by your country, the Trig can use the EFIS GPS position to output ADSB. This was probably the easiest part of my MGL installation and it worked from day one...

Re: Autopilot Bank and Pitch "autotrim"

Presumably all of these aircraft have electric trim systems and those are connected to the autopilot system in some way. I not, how do you think the servos are going to be able to trim the aircraft? The autopilot servos just move the elevators and ailerons, they don't move the trim tabs. I suppose t...

Which radio have you got? Does it have a built-in intercom?

Re: Designer: Transponder / ADSB

It can also evaluate ordinary mode-A and mode-C transmissions from older transponders and estimate how far the aircraft if from you based on the received signal strength which it can measure accurately. So it can be used as an early warning device even for older transponder equipped aircraft - as l...

Re: Designer: Transponder / ADSB

So I wonder if transmitting on 1090 vs 978 makes a difference on how other aircraft see me when outside of the radar environment. I guess that is why Stratux has both receivers, do most other ADSB-in solutions have dual receivers? That all depends on where in the world you are. For instance, in the...

Re: FF-1 GPS connection issues

Wouldn't you be better off just buying something like this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Waterproof-Navigator-Automobile-Navigation-Compatible-Black/dp/B071XY4R26/ref=sr_1_7_sspa?adgrpid=72811328345&dchild=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA962BBhCzARIsAIpWEL2yWWJhT2S5q3_qyqHRfWNbdFLXWyBK3sgPinux0FYHUOLBZNTPy4saAjAWEALw_w...

Re: MX1 and Trig TY91

Hi Don, I assume you know that MGL does not manufacture an interface for the TY91. It does for the transponders (TT21, TT22 etc) and they work very well but there is not an equivalent for the radio. Instead, you have to make up a fairly simple couple of wires/resistors to the TY91's TMAP as a 'fudge...

Re: GPS position is inaccurate

Are you saying the representation of the co-ordinates is not aligned with your raster map? For instance you select a waypoint and it is off to one side on your raster map. If so, it sounds to me like the geo referencing of your raster map is a bit off.

Re: HELP: MX1 bugs / issues

Sorry to ask an obvious question but have you enabled the Extender in the set up screen? I don’t think there’s any way of getting round No.2. Mine does exactly the same. My default start page is page 6 and this works every time but the Info page will be where I left it and I can’t see any option to ...

Re: SkyDemon Compatibility

No, it's not possible. WIFI was mentioned quite some time ago but seems to have disappeared off the 'to do' list. From SkyDemon you need to export the route and then import it into your iEFIS using the SD card. I haven't had a lot of success so far. I get every indication that the route has been imp...
