Re: Xtreme Snags

Further investigation talks of a 100 Ohm resistor between the Oil Pressure input on the RDAC and Reference Ground for the Stratomaster. Just wondering if the Xtreme requires the same for the Rotax oil pressure sender.

Xtreme Snags

We have a newly installed Rotax 914 and we're having trouble trying to get the Xtreme to produce sensible readings. The oil pressure shows 1.9 bar, when a mechanical gauge (correctly) shows 4.0 bar. The fuel pressure is showing 1.2 bar, when we're expecting around 0.5. The fuel pressure sensed is a ...

Re: EFIS LITE with AoA display.

Hi Pete,

I use the Dynon pitot/AoA probe. One like this: https://www.gps.co.uk/product/dynon-aoa ... 00141-000/

You need the two inputs for the kit to figure out the AoA through comparing differential pressure. You can't just use a normal probe as it only has one tube.

Re: EFIS LITE with AoA display.

I downloaded the tone files from here somewhere. It may have been the old forum. I can't recall the name of the guy who uploaded them but I'm sure it was the chap who was doing all the HUD development etc (possibly for an RV8). His name may have had something to do with microwaves (or similar). I tr...

Re: Why Doesn't The Autopilot Do Its Job Properly?

Your pitch magnitude setting is unusually high. Not saying it is wrong but usually you would be around a 7 or so. I have had it set on various settings, both higher and lower and found it makes little difference. I'll put it back down to 7 and see what happens I can't see the flight director on your...

Re: Why Doesn't The Autopilot Do Its Job Properly?

Would you be so kind as to show: A screen shot of your pitch control setup menus contents. A screen shot of the autopilot engagement screen. Sorry, forgot the A/P engagement screen but the A/P was in HDG (Track) Hold and Alt Hold. Today, it was so calm I think I would have had better altitude contr...

Re: AHRS and synthetic Vision

15-20 degrees of bank. You're lucky; I spent most of the flight the other day looking at the Nadir, no changes to anything, other than it was a different flight to the one earlier in the day.....when I looked, mostly, at the horizon. I would have absolutely zero confidence in using my IEFIS Lite in ...

Re: Why Doesn't The Autopilot Do Its Job Properly?

Today I flew two of the same aircraft. Same weather, same speeds, same everything apart from the colours. 1 equipped with Dynon HDX and autopilot. 2 (mine) equipped with iEFIS Lite and autopilot. Flight in 1 resulted in a seamless WIFI route transfer from my iPad to the HDX, followed by 'NAV' doing ...

Re: EFIS LITE with AoA display.

I have the Dynon pitot/AoA probe. It’s all hooked up to my IEFIS Lite and works well. Mind you, I did download the sound file that allows the ‘proper’ audio tones to increase in pitch as the stall is approached, instead of the silly tone that comes as standard and sounds like a glider vario.
