Thanks

And if you can ... I'd love to see and hear how it works through actual stalls at altitude. #greedy :D

Re: AOA tone generator

A solid tone over the fence, a bit of beeping as I got closer to the runway, some more urgent beeping as just before I crossed the end and then a satisfying 'loads of stalling beeping' just at touchdown :D Yes, it all works very well in the real thing. Hey Paul, That's fantastic! Thanks for the fee...

Re: AoA differential port locations

I wouldn't over-think it too much. That along with "That's overkill!" pretty much some up my project! That said, between this and the cessna170.org forum (where I learned how to fabricate a replacement 1948 pitot tube from "recovered materials"), my pitot-static and AoA systems have got about...

Re: AoA differential port locations

Thanks Paul, I was going to order up static ports from aircraft spruce, but I'll have a look at the RV big rivet method! I hadn't even thought to do a single offset port, which would basically emulate what you have on the Dynon pitot. I think I'll put one top and one bottom. Then I can calibrate bot...

AoA differential port locations

Hi all, I was going to use the Dynon pitot with the AoA port but it would require fairly major wing surgery on a 1948 rag wing Cessna 170, which I want to avoid. I have decided to fit upper and lower wing ports and use the differential 2-port mode on the iEFIS MX1 for AoA. Has anyone done this and u...

Re: HUD

I'm working on a small AOA HUD display it with our FlyOnSpeed AOA Design Team. Picture below shows a our Small HUD (~2.5" x 2.5") on my RV8 Dash Board, The display is a M5 Stack ESP32 Arduino (~$30) with our Custom Software, our custom RS232/12VDC Backside Interface, and our Dash Board Mounting Bra...

Re: AOA tone generator

I'm attempting to relate the OnSpeed tones to the MGL AoA and I'm wondering if anyone can add to the fund of knowledge: 1. The vertical stripped AoA widget does not seem to work in the MX1 simulator. Changing the AOA differential pressure in the simulation control has zero effect. Am I missing somet...

Re: AOA tone generator

Ha! This is exactly what I needed. I can't believe this is built in already -- great job Rainier. ... EDIT: just googled "AOATABLE.txt" and found the reference in the MX1 manual. Didn't think to look there as I wasn't considering an MX1. Great that it's out there. Hey Cheese, I have similarly just ...
