Re: Blaze/Vega EMS data logging

I also wrote a program to parse this data after doing the same thing (connecting a RSLogger module to the ouput of my EMS-2). Using this would likely require you to make some changes and you'd need to be familiar with Python etc, but if you want it, it's here: https://github.com/timeggleston/parse-e...

Re: AOA tone generator

Agh, you're teasing me Paul! This is making me want to bring forward an iEFIS installation from "when I get a chance" to "as soon as practicable" :D

Great to hear it worked. I compared the tone logic against the onspeed source code and it did seem sound. So you had a solid tone over the fence?

Re: AOA tone generator

Got it, thanks Rainier! I'll stop trying to debug sim audio then :D

Re: Van's forum and MGL

I dearly wish that forum was maintained by a group of enthusiasts or at least as a side project, and not as a full-time job. The dependency on expensive vendor fees has driven away a lot of good information. The strength of the experimental platform is in the choices available... having it implicitl...

Re: AOA tone generator

Thanks Rainier, a blank line at the end of the file did it. The simulator isn't playing the AOA tones. Sound is working in general (I get GPS AVAILABLE when I start it up). This happens with either the custom AOATABLE or the defaults. I've got the sim in a high AOA state (it's giving me the red tria...

Re: AOA tone generator

Fantastic! And glad to hear that an onspeed insider is an MGL fan. I wonder if Cecil is willing to test this table (if he has the equipment)? I don't yet have an actual iEFIS in my airplane so I'm playing with the simulator. Unfortunately the simulator barfs on both your AOA table and Rainier's exam...

Re: AOA tone generator

Ha! This is exactly what I needed. I can't believe this is built in already -- great job Rainier. Follow-up question, is it possible to get AOA angle on the screen (for calibration purposes)? I had a poke around the designer in the sim and I can get various representations of the AOA (coloured statu...

Re: AOA tone generator

Hmm, I don't see anything in the docs about that level of customisation, just the "AOA Tone if [yellow,>50% green,>70% green]". Sounds like it would be just the ticket if it exists though. Can you point me in the direction of the right documentation?

AOA tone generator

Full disclosure: iEFIS admirer at this point, I have a bunch of the Vega/Blaze singles in my RV-4 but haven't had the guts to truly tear my panel apart yet. I've been following the ONSPEED project closely and love what they're doing with a primarily audio-only AOA indication that lets you easily det...
