Re: Autopilot Left of Track Issue
So I have the same problem…. But I’m to the RIGHT (and no, it’s not a down under thing because I’m also S Hemisphere…… :0) ) Been an issue throughout my ownership of the aircraft. Not sure why but it’s consistently 0.6-0.8nm off and always to the right…. E9B17A4D-53B7-4CA2-BB59-679715C7EE26.jpeg Adj...

Re: Why Doesn't The Autopilot Do Its Job Properly?
I have an SP-7 and a Challenger system. The autopilot is not as good as the GFC500 coupled with a G3x/G5 in the same aircraft. It may well be an AHARS problem - or maybe not. Wondering if anyone has stumped up for the SP-9 AHARS and if that improves the situation? It feels like the AP is the weak li...

Re: charge/ammeter iEfis
Hi JimJab. Thank you so much - this is really interesting gen. I need to have really close look at where it's wired. For me I want to know if the charge system fails - so I want to see pos amps going to the battery when at normal RPM. So it seems position 2 is the place for it to be. I will have a g...

Re: charge/ammeter iEfis
Thanks Adam.
It occurs to me that I have seen the charge sensor when I changed the battery.
I’ll simply flip it over so it reads positive……..

charge/ammeter iEfis
i have a Sling 4 with a Rotax 914 with a backup alternator.
my ammeter always reads negative… usually -14A and goes down with more load. .
the battery charges so clearly the indication is incorrect.
any ideas? simple polarity issue? ie should i swap the leads around on the iBox?

GPS position out to Garmin radio?
I have a G3 iEFIs with a Garmin GTR225 radio. The radio can be controlled from the EFIS but some of the functionality of the radio depends on a GPS position source. From my understanding of the radio install manual it accepts RS232 in which I presume is currently the method whereby the iefis control...

Re: Autopilot Track accuracy
Anyone else have any input on this? On Saturday I was consistently 1.5nm right of track. It’s not a go-no go issue but I don’t understand why it should be happening. Eventually used the heading bug to manually fly the desired track….

Autopilot Track accuracy
Wondering if the hive mind has any ideas here - my autopilot, when flying on the HSI GPS mode always seems to fly right of track (usually about 0.3-0.5nm. Is this to do with my lateral control sensitivity settings in the setup? It's a little frustrating - think it should do better than that?

Re: Using iEFIS for IFR Flight
Also having this dilemma in South Africa. 430w still very expensive and also need refurb. Looking to put in a gps-175 and a G5 as a backup AH. THE -175 can drive a flight director in both g5 and MGL. Need radios though. Haven’t seen any pireps on the N16/v16/a16 combo though. Garmin radios stupidly ...
