Re: AUX 2 Problem

It's got a 1.5K pullup to internal 5V. So if you have the pullup on you should measure 5V to ground at the AUX2 terminal and zero volts with the pullup off. That checks the connection to the terminal. Then you go into the RDAC diagnostics on your EFIS - it shows you what it is measuring - repeat the...

Re: Dumb VGA display screen fir iEFIS Challenger

Can anyone suggest a specific model of a 7" or 8" VGA LED Screen that you have successfully used, that displays the iEFIS Screen on the passenger's side on a dumb Screen? Is it correct that you cannot use cheaper LCD screens because they may emit noise into the radios due to the high voltages in th...

Re: Xtreme. Autopilot

Does this have autopilot functionality. Documents are vague in some places. Also any lookout for this to have synthetic vision or moving map like the grt mini series? Autopilot yes, maps and synthetic vision no. We never really bothered with the latter two as the display in our opinion is too small...

Re: IEFIS Lite RDAC VT compatability

No it is not compatible. All of the iEFIS systems require a CAN bus based RDAC.

Re: N-16

Please pardon my naivety, where does one select RS232 based navigation inputs? Or where is “Setup HSI/GSI Indicators”? Thanks. Have a look in your system setup menu -> External HSI sources setup. If you are not using the analog navigation inputs on your iBOX please deselect the tick box "+/-150mV a...

Re: V16 adjustment

I have given the V16 a really wide range of adjustment to suit all possible environments and headsets etc.
In other words - there is no "midpoint". If you are happy with a particular setting that suits your aircraft - stick with it.

Re: N-16

You can use any RS232 port on the iEFIS for the N16. If you see "NAV ana" it means you have selected analog navigation inputs (not the N16). Please select RS232 based navigation. Also, as the NAV system in the iEFIS can be used for both a real NAV radio and a simulated NAV radio (GVOR and GLS) once ...

Re: RDAC for CAN

You need a document that states the particulars of the CAN bus protocol used (baudrates and formats), then a list of labels with documentation on what each contains (data types and formats). The Motec ECUs are completely configurable by the implementer for the engine so just knowing that it is a mot...

Re: NMEA output from iEfis

If you have an iBOX serial port number 6 is a dedicated NMEA input and output. If you have a "Lite" you can select which port you would like to use for NMEA. In both cases you can select the desired baudrate in the GPS setup menu. Note: 4800 is not recommended - if possible change the baudrate on th...

Re: Dual GPS Antenna

Your iBOX has a WAAS GPS as well. You should install both antennas but keep some distance between them. Active antennas like these can interfere with each other. The iBOX GPS is used in many ways by the system to a level not possible with the uAvionics system. For example it is used for precise 3D m...
