Re: Dynamic compression of voices
Interesting! And, yes, AGC was exactly the term I was looking for. I feel a bit sheepish for having forgotten it. One thing I'm still a little confused by is what the V16 does. You are very clear that it does not do AGC, but then you mention amplifying weak signals. Would that have a similar...

Re: Autupilot & MX1. What is Glideslope control in the Ap pitch settings
The glide slope angle and intercept point (distance from threshold you would like to crash into the runway) you select in the GLS setup. The glideslope setting in the AP pitch control is a factor that is used to determine how "forcefully" to intercept and follow the glideslope down. Start with the d...

Re: Dynamic compression of voices
No we do not do that. However what you are describing is an effect of AGC or automatic gain control. Normal radios have a variable gain amplifier that is controlled by the strength of the incoming signal. AGC has a control slope to prevent it from oscillating so the weaker the signal the softer the ...

Re: Discovery Lite AHRS
If it is related to RPM this tends to happen only at one particular RPM setting and goes away shorty after changing RPM. It would be repeatable every time you hit that RPM. If it is not related to RPM it could be an unusual operating temperature (that affects older "Lites" more than the newer models...

Re: TP-3 - Excessively High Coolant Temp
Since you have two probes - just swap the channels (i.e. move the wires over). If the issue flips to the other channel - it would appear your probe is no longer working. Since you are using NTC senders you can also use a resistance meter - disconnect the wires from the probe and measure the resistan...

Re: Discovery Lite AHRS
Was the engine running? Vibration often causes this. Yes correct - this typically happens if a resonance is hit but basically this is what happens: The gyro vibrates in one or more axis - the movement is a fraction of a mm usually but in bad cases can be more. The movement more or less approximates...

Changing iEFIS Lite pressure sender
When weeding out my daily load of spam on this forum (99% from Russian sources) I may have accidentally deleted a post related to changing a pressure sensor on an iEFIS Lite. If you purchase a replacement sensor you must drill a small hole in the center if the bottom surface of the sensor - this cre...

Re: Flight and engine data (Black box info)
The EFIS records this data only when a flight is active. Ensure you have setup your EFIS so it properly detects start and end of a flight or if you use manual mode you start and end the flight in the action menu. You know that a flight is active if you look at the flight timer on the screen and it i...

Re: GPS Antenna from Garmin.
GPS antennas these days are generally designed to operate from a 3 volt supply and will be very tolerant to this - for example they work without hassle at 5 volts as well. While we cannot say anything about the Garmin antenna as we do not know it (so this is not to be taken as advice of any kind) th...

Re: V10 radio repair?
All spares have been shipped to MGL Avionics USA (California) so they are the only ones able to repair these things. The Radio was manufactured by South West Electronics which shipped everything to the U.S. many years ago. I do not know the state of the spares stock. South West is no longer in busin...
