Spam attacks on this forum

This has been a daily issue - when you sign up you need to answer a few questions to try and identify if you are genuine but that does not elliminate the problem - just reduces it. In the past I would get around 100 fake signups per day mostly from Russian sources advertising anything from Viagra to...

Re: Canbus wire shielding and groud loops

Usually the CAN bus does not need shielding as it uses differential signalling and twisted pair wires. This results in the field created in one wire being canceled by the field in the other wire. However you can use shielded wires if you think it may be needed. In this case the shield connects on on...

Re: Enigma internal battery

Remove the rear panel (4 x screws) and have a close look at the two solder joints that hold the battery receptacle. In particular where the pads merge into the copper tracks - it is possible if a previous battery replacement was done somewhat "heavy handed" that a pad lifts from the board and the co...

iEFIS Discovery Lite temporarily unavailable

Please note that as of today 29th September 2023 the iEFIS Discovery Lite is temporarily out of production and not available from the MGL factory. This is due to the display module no longer being available on relatively short notice. The Discovery Lite is however in the process of prototyping for a...

Re: V10 picking up radio stations.

Yes I still have a few of the little filter PCB's in stock here.
But you can use an external filter - just get something that cuts off below 118 Mhz as steep as possible without introducing passband losses that are not acceptable.

Re: Plans for an iBox V2 & related?

No, we use MXP5010DP and MPX5050DP for the high speed side (if fitted). We used MPX12 in older devices starting with the original Flight some 22 years ago up to the Odyssey/Voyager. MPX10, while similar cannot be used die to the high drift of the sensor. Both MPX10 and MPX12 have been discontinued a...

Re: Mx1 freezes then and endless reboot loop

But there is more pressing with the MX1. i still can't get vector maps. Don't know why, tried a lot with several MX1s (I have three I am servicing) MX1 does not do vector maps or plates or anything terrain related - it's a cut down iEFIS system in order to fit the entire code into the ROM of the CP...

Re: A/P Pitch Servo failure

This sounds like a pretty challenging installation - the actual voltage at your transmit frequency on your coax can reach more than 50V and of course it "leaves" the antenna and will couple onto anything that looks even remotely like a wire - if close by you can induce a really big, sometimes damagi...

Re: Major V16/A16 update

I have not written a protocol document but it is very simple (but can be tricky - luckily the tricky part is in the V16 for you). The RS232 port runs at a baudrate of 500.000 bits per second. 8 bits, 1 start, one stop bit. A16/A14 (or your intercom is the master). It sends out packets of data at 8Kh...
