Re: backup battery
I charge my backup battery through its own charging circuit, either from the main system during flight (with reverse current diode protection) or a separate trickle charger on the ground if needed. I do think the manual hints that a backup battery will get a charge from the EFIS during flight but I ...

Re: New USA MGL EFIS Maps (Sept 2020)
I provided thr Michigan avionics folks the maps on their website. I do have some Canidian maps I put together some years ago that I think go up to about 60 degrees north? Part of these maps were made from real Canidian aeronautical sectionals but some were made from other map sources. If your intere...

Re: Screen design for ADS-B IN Traffic objects
I agree. As far as I know the Traffic Icon cannot be changed and is definitely too small. Where I am doing most of my flying I have significant traffic and the traffic icon is often either cannot be seen or cannot be read against other map or overlapping traffic information. Fortunately I have a iPa...

Re: SP9 Crash on TakeOff???
Thanks Rainier, Ill go back and look at the mounting, I of course thought it was mounted rigid and had 4 little shock absorbers under it.
Will see what I can do.

SP9 Crash on TakeOff???
I finally have my RV8 flying but have a 100% consistent SP9 Serious issue at Takeoff!! Every time I takeoff my SP9 crashes as seen in the picture below. Once airborne I reset the attitude on the EFIS and it appears to work ok after that throughout the flight (so far). But Still early in the test pro...

Re: HUD
Yes, this is HUD project #2, HUD #1--> the efis_to_hud to HUD project still 100% exists, just has slowed down, This HUD #2 was created to provide a Cheap & Simple HUD directly focused on our On-Speed project. HUD #1 has been installed in several aircraft and has good reviews. Its just a lot more com...
